Planning your wedding is likely to be one of the biggest events you plan in your lifetime. Co-ordinating it all so it runs smoothly on the big day takes lots of organisation and thorough planning. Flowers are one thing that can really finish off an exquisite wedding ceremony, reception and brides and bridesmaids outfits.

The Wellington Flower Shop can arrange your flowers for your wedding across Wellington City and the entire Wellington Region.

Once you have selected your florist you will need to be prepared with the following three decisions pretty early on so the nitty gritty planning can get underway.

Numbers: To determine the quantities required (& therefore to be able to present an accurate price) you will need to advise the florist how many bouquets you require, how many button holes, number of tables and so on.

Budget: Once your florist knows your budget they can then suggest flowers to fall within it rather than presenting with you options that are too expensive form the funds you have aside for flowers at the wedding. Florists often have tricks to make a budget conscious wedding look almost just as luxurious as a no expense spared wedding. Using full bloom flowers so there are fewer stems required can lower the price pretty easily.

Style: Is your big say lavish? Simple? Romantic? Modern? Beachy? Shabby Chic? Once you have advised your florist of the style they can then suggest flowers to suit and tie everything together. Keeping pictures of flower bouquets and arrangements you like is a good idea so you can clearly show the florist what you do and don’t like. When thinking about colour you need to choose something that fits in with the rest of the wedding. If you bridesmaids are in red, then pink flowers for yourself is probably an unwise decision. White flowers for a bride are a popular choice although more and more we are seeing bridal bouquets with colour. The possibilities are endless.
